Great food grest service well worth the wait
Love it! Micheladas and stuffed jalapeΓ±os are my fave but everything is amazing. Expect a wait during peak times but it is well worth it
MoreJust had a very enjoyable relaxing lunch. Daniel behind the bar served me, and was Phenominal. Had a fantastic cup of gumbo, Salt & Pepper, and Breaded Crab Fingers. Perfectly cooked. Reminded me of the years ago Sabine Pass, Texas - "Sartins". This lunch brough back great childhood memories of 50 years ago.
MoreThis place has some of the absolutely best catfish I have tasted. Little awkward getting a feel for it when you first get there but very communal. Love how everyone is just eating next to each other. Will definitely go again.
MoreThe food is very good and alway hot just like I like it nice peoples are to nice
Always the best most consistent service and food for the price. We have been going since 1989 and have never disappointed. Recommend trying everything on the menu.
MoreShrimp, oysters were fresh and fried perfect. Catfish was fresh but a bit over cooked. Overall good food.
MoreI've been here back when it was a smaller venue, now it's completely redone and huge. Went here for the oysters and they're great. Place is always packed and it can be difficult to find seating. Definitely an experience!
MoreBest raw oysters in town! Also has other simple seafood - mostly fried - but real good stuffed crab. Place is packed most times so go off hours to have a little more elbow room. For example do lunch at 11am, dinner at 5pm, etc. They also have bottled beer to wash down the fare. Best part is they are at a corner lot at a traffic light so you can exit out the back on the side street and get onto 1960 without any dangerous manuevers. Highly recommend.
MoreI've been going to this place for 14 years and the food is as amazing the first time as it is now. I also love all of the different people who, by happenstance, get to pretty much eat together. It's definitely a place that you should try!
MoreI got the dozen Oysters. Very good. They are pretty big. I also got the stuffed jalapenos. Not very cheesy, if that's what you're looking for. They had A LOT of seafood! Delish!
MoreFood is good fast service best micheladas I've had
Price is right, oysters were very good! Nice casual atmosphere, not too loud or crazy, and space between seating was not as crammed as some people have previously mentioned in reviews. We had great service! We enjoyed Oysters, Crab fingers, Stuffed shrimp jalapenos, and enjoyed some badA** Micheladas on top of it all too! Definitely a great spot for some good bites with a great deal!
MoreOne of the best seafood places in town. The shrimp tastes very fresh as if it is purchest fresh daily.
MoreIt was good... I'm not from around here, and was recommended to try it and wow... was good. The beer comes with ur choice of tomato or lime juice and a shrimp or oyster in a glass for it. Will be back if I'm here again.
MoreMy favorite place for black pepper grilled shrimp and a michelada. Best micheladas in Houston for sure!!! Donβt like the limited seating or having to watch people eat trying to guess who will get up next so you can take their seats. Great food but they need a better system for seating people.
MoreThis place has the best gumbo ever. Tried Louisiana ones and nobody even comes close. Their food is superb, always cooked fresh. Oysters are very reasonably priced, they always serve more than a dozen. Go early or go really late, the lines get long! Love Captain Tom's!!!
MoreGood food but no social distancing. My friend went in to order but it was so crowded that I opted to wait for her outside. I was even worried about doing that. I'll only go back if I can order over the phone and pick-up curbside. Although, I don't think they offer that.
MoreSeriously some of the best oysters I've ever had, and very reasonably priced. I'll definitely be back!
MoreReally tasty hole in the wall place! It's small so the wait can be long, I recommend going at lunch.
MoreAs always, this place was great! Good food, good prices and excellent service!
So good. Crab fingers. Salt and pepper flounder omg.
New to the area and to anyone visiting, it's worth checking out. Great food and drinks.
MoreWhen you come here, and you dont mind some fried food, try to order the fried whole tilapia fish with salt and pepper, you will thank me later! :)
MoreThe oyster Always fresh! And i really like that soup. Byw i always forget the name.
MoreVery small so can be difficult getting in. Sea food is pretty good and at a good price. The gumbo here is some of the best I've had around town for sure.
MoreThe food was great. Unfortunately we arrived during a rush hour. But I do recommend if you have not been, come try. Forgot to take pictures of my food.
MoreIf you're a fan of oysters this is the place to go because they have them for cheap. The fries were good but the food was bland.
MoreIt has good workers, always on customers needs, polite, and great food. I officially recommend.
MoreHands down, simply said, THE BEST. Best gumbo, gulf oysters, micheladas, and fried flounder. You cannot possibly find a better seafood place in Houston, I've been going here for more than 10 years. One of the best atmospheres you will experience, these guys are the best.
MoreI have been eating here for 20+ years. The oysters are delicious and you will not find a better price anywhere. The gumbo is good and the catfish is worth a taste too. There is almost always a wait and sometimes it can be up to 30 minutes. There is plenty of parking most of the time, and the service is always friendly. If you're in the area stop by and get some seafood.
MoreHorrible. They had gumbo in a warmer. The food was flavorless. No seasoning. Nice parking lot that's it.
MoreIf you can tolerate the crowded space then you will enjoy your time there. The raw oysters were the best I've had since I lived in Apalachicola, Florida. The fried seafood platter was awesome as well! Highly recommend going.
MoreThe best I love this place just be prepared for a long wait at pretty much anytime
MoreNo frills seafood. Great prices, super busy, food comes out fresh and hot. The oysters are so fresh due to the high turnover. Can't wait to bring some more friends next time and enjoy some more good food!
MoreDecent service...course better if you speak Spanish lol. But they take care of you!! Hybbs takes me here for Lunch Dates away from kids. This really is a bit of bar seating type of restaurant. Now with Coronavirus and social Distancing less people allowed inside. But people thou will get close to you irregardless of spaced seating. We enjoy the seafood gumbo, Fried Shrimp and Oysters.
MoreGo and enjoy a great michelado. Freshly shucked oysters. Everything here is awesome. Be prepared to wait a lil. Worth the wait.
MoreBest gumbo in the city. The only gumbo my dad can eat with his recently developed shellfish allergy and have no effect. Which probably speaks for the freshness of their seafood. I do know they they clean out their used oil more than lots of other restaurants in the city. Really good micheladas too. Add the huge shrimp!
MoreOk...fresh shrimp fish. No flavor thou. Just bland.
Great place to sit and enjoy food and the atmosphere!
Terrific Seafood. But like the line in JAWS says, they're gonna need a bigger boat. Toms needs a remodel. They need to use a cruise ship as the basis of the restaurant. This way they can seat three times as many as they do now.
MoreI love the clam chowder. The place is very laid back that you can have a beer and chill. The fried foods are good as well my hubby enjoys everything.
MoreWholey Smokes!!!! If you like seafood "Go No Further!" This has everything you need. Quick and Speedy Service, amazing prices, and the ambiance of the ship at sail!!!!!!!!
MoreReally fun place, with awesome food. I always wanted to eat in a boat! It's very busy but the food comes out fast. Next time I'm going to order a michelada like almost everyone was. More of a bar than a family restaurant. Really delicious stuffed shrimp. You wait for an opening at the bar, order your food from the servers/bartenders and then pay on your way out
MoreHaven't been here in about 3months due quarantine, MAN DID I MISS THIS PLACE! Never gets old.... π€ππ¦π¦π»
MoreFood is great! Service is very good! The atmosphere is very open and social. Food comes out in the timely manner and is always consistent in his preparation and taste. Prices are very fair I recommend this to anyone who loves oysters catfish frog legs a seafood in general. Menu is limited and very niche but it's one of the best places to eat on 1960 near Jones Rd and 290.
MoreIts a great place for oysters, raw and fried. Tom is pretty busy on peak hours so it'll be a good idea to head out early, the place itself is quite small so its really first come first serve. We went there for lunch today and I tried out the Sea food platter, my friend the dozen oyster, and shared frog legs(also the gumbo, definitely a must here). The sea food platter came with one stuffed crab, two fried oysters, two fried cat fish, two shrimps, and fries. Pretty nice platter if you want to see what you like so you can order that next time. Their food taste nice but a little too salty. Hydrate yourself.
MoreThe micheladas have to be their money makers because they are absolutely the best around.
MoreGreat place to go eat! Awesome setup where you can sit and look out the window. Also great oysters!
